Ah Di and Dake finally met each other at the hospital after 20 years. Yuanfang, who apparently fell in love with Dake, found out about their relationship, causing her increasing resentment towards Ah Di.
Shanshan found out from Yuanfang that Ah Di is trying to help her to ask for forgiveness from the Lady Boss who got injured because of her. Ah Di prepares meals for the Lady Boss everyday without fail but her determination is not being reciprocated. She was almost going to kneel down when Shanshan barged into the room and knelt down in place of her.
That day, Shanshan returns home and Shuangjie seemed to feel awkward seeing her. Over dinner, Shanshan announces to the family that she will be away for a period of time to serve her sentence in jail.
Shanshan tries to be a better person and helps out at Jia Xiang Wei. Upon seeing Shanshan becoming a totally changed person, Shuangjie feels uneasy and confronts her about it. He also confessed his feelings for her.
Ah Di was clearing up some stuff and accidentally pushed Yuanfang's phone into a bucket of water, spoiling it. Prison staff who wanted to inform her about her father's critical condition could not reach her on the phone. They called Jia Xiang Wei but both Yuanfang and Ah Di were not around- Yimin answered the phone and did not convey the message to them. Ah Di only knew about it after Yuanfang's father passed on. Yuanfang secretly blames Ah Di for letting her miss her chance of seeing her father for the last time.
Ah Di was not ready to introduce Dake to her family, but Dake appeared at Jia Xiang Wei one day. Auntie Jinzhi thought that Dake was planning to devulge Jia Xiang Wei, like how Jinfu did, as she did not know Dake's background. Dake was also introduced to Shuangjie, Shanshan and Siwen. They later realised that Dake met Shuangjie when he was young at the quarry and continued talking about how coincidental it was. The 3 children seem to accept their Uncle Dake well. On the other hand, Yuanfang still can't get over the fact that Ah Di and Dake are actually together, adding on to the misery after her father's death.
